LIVE COVERAGE: Johnny Depp v Amber Heard Defamation Trial
Actor Johnny Depp is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million for defamation in connection with Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed, in which she spoke out about being the victim of domestic violence. Heard’s article did not specifically name Depp as her alleged abuser, but according to Depp’s lawsuit, it relied “on the central premise that Ms. Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Mr. Depp perpetrated domestic violence against her.” Amber Heard is counter-suing Depp for $100 million.
The defamation trial began Monday in Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia, with jury selection completing on the same day. There is a possibility of celebrity witnesses testifying, including James Franco and Elon Musk. Tune in to the Law&Crime Network for daily coverage of this high-profile trial.

Amber's sister: Johnny was trying to isolate Amber from her friends.

My thoughts about Raquel’s testimony would be simple. Raquel, if you were so inconvenienced to have to waste your time to testify, perhaps you shouldn’t have agreed to get involved in a non-sustainable lie to destroy a life and career that supported your living and recreational abilities. From where I, and a lot of people sit, it’s looking like you are scorned and retaliating. Perhaps because the end of this marriage meant your entry back into the real world would ensue? Typical entitled personalities. None of you thought enough about the “safety” of Amber when you were benefiting from the monster and his gratuitous nature, but as soon as you face any level of responsibility, it’s everyone else’s fault. Karma may be a slow moving inevitability, but make no mistake, it’s absolutely inevitable. Enjoy your destroyed (at your own hands) credibility along side of seeing your “friend” lose a lucrative career all because your best idea was to construct an elaborate and false narrative under the guise of a movement reserved for actual victims. I think you also owe all DV victims an apology for making light of their suffering at the hands of real monsters. You, IO and Amber are terrible, disgusting people and you will endure the wrath of the people, deservedly. There’s a reason the Musk and Franco didn’t testify in favor of Heard. You should’ve protected your dignity the way you protected the real monster in this relationship. Have a nice life 😂

So it’s ok for Amber and all her friends to drink, get drunk, use illegal drugs, yet Johnny is a monster when he did the same? I can’t believe these so called witnesses who leached of him can sit there and testify that he was such a monster on drugs and alcohol while admitting to the same and we are not even to question their behaviour. Unbelievable.

Amber & Whitney: We were just trying to keep him off drugs because he turned into a monster.

i find it awful convenient she reached out to “reach out” or “reconcile” with people months before this trial🧐

I never heard about an abuser that will let the victim have the friends living with them. Abusers isolate their victims like Amber did!

Speaking from personal experience there is NO way Johnny punched her with those rings on & it left no injury or makeup was used to cover it. The beatings AH described would've left significant injury with rings that big. I had worse injuries being slapped across my face than what she has shown from all those alleged beat downs. I'm disgusted by her lies.

Whitney - Johnny is bad: he is always drunk and high.

I would love to see a recording of the jury discussions and how they are forming opinions on the evidence that`s been shown

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I haven’t heard a single “witness” actually witness Johnny being physical with Amber. They’ve only seen “after affects” none of them could actually know what happened…

Amber's sister describes how terrible Johnny was when he was taking drugs, later she describes how she was taking drugs with him. So you know he gets abusive with your sister when he takes drugs and your sister wants him to stay clean and take drugs with him anyway?! Wow that's an amazing sister 👏

Everybody was “scared” for Amber. But nobody confronted her bc they were actually scared of her. And nobody confronted him bc they used him for his money and clout. Shameful.

I like how Rochelle was very "Yes. No. Sometimes. Maybe" with Johnny's lawyers, and then like 4 or 5 questions in with Amber's lawyers all of a sudden there's tears and emotions and long storried answers.

Must be hard on Johnny that the people he let in to live in his residences, are the one that are trying to destroy him. Shame on those piece of work.

I have a theory about that bruise on Amber's cheek at the courthouse. I was curious, if I punched myself with my own dominant hand, where would my fist naturally land on my face? I didn't hit myself, but I imitated the motion with force, pulling the punch just short, then pressing my knuckles to my face where they would have landed. It was centered just under my cheekbone, just like her bruise is. Keep in mind, Johnny is right handed, so if he was facing her and punched with his dominant hand, the bruise would be on her left cheek, but it's not; it's on the right, where her own dominant hand would land... Highly sus.

The fact that they use the same exact words to describe her injuries and experiences as Amber does and she has the same exact facial expressions as Amber when trying to cry and act sad shows me that Amber was coached or did coach her friends as to what to say.

So, according to Heard’s acting coach, she has a lot of trouble making herself cry. I think we can all vouch for that at this point.

I watched yesterday's trial with Camille Vasquez - she is bloody amazing, Amber Heard ended up storming out of the courtroom afterwards! It's hard to play the poor vulnerable female victim when another female sees through all the BS. Amber Heard just kept twisting her neck between the Jury and Vasquez during the question/answers - really weird.
